How to Stop Playing Small and Start Playing BIG! In 2019 the world needs your Feminine Greatness!

I remember so well how the 17-year old Klara came to my dance classes for the first time, with her bouncy blonde curls and still wearing braces on her teeth. When I asked her why she wanted to learn this ancient Arab dance, she answered ‘My dream is to dance like Shakira!’ I had a good laughter and told her ‘That’s easy! But I can give you more than Shakira!’

Klara danced with me for years. One day she came to me, to proudly announce that she was admitted to The School of Arts University to become a documentary maker. The personal stories I shared during the dance about my childhood intrigued her. Even though I told them with a lot of humor, Klara felt there was much more than just a ‘funny story’.

She told me: “Your work, your …

We all need an Arab Sex Lamp!

My beautiful Goddesses,

Greetings from Tunisia. I send you here a little film I took in this beautiful museum, an old Arab house. The subject of the film is an old Arab Sex Lamp (300 years old!!), to protect women’s sexual right to pleasure! To make sure that women reach orgasm and that making love lasts for hours, that a man doesn’t come before a woman has had several orgasms!! Arab Muslim culture, to the surprise of many, has a long tradition in Slow Sex and female sexual pleasure.

I am here in my home city Sousse in Tunisia with an amazing group of women who participated at my Divine9Dance retreat. The youngest lady was 4 years old, you see her next to me in the film (she came with her mum and grand-mum!!), the oldest was 67+ years old. …

The Sisterhood Dilemma: Why Women Accept Men, and have Zero tolerance for Women

Because if we, as women, are still suspicious of one another, if we still have this crazy, crazy bar for each other that we don’t have for men, if we’re still not comfortable with the notion that a woman could be our president, compared to what? It is frustrating to see a lot of men blow it and win.

Michelle Obama is officially addressing a subject very dear to my/our heart and which is at the core of our female evolution: Sisterhood.

From gender research we found it that “60% of women feel suspicious and nervous around other women”.

That’s pretty worrying, isn’t it?

During all these years of teaching gender studies, dancing and working with women, I realized that mistrust among women is quite high, and that women often don’t know clearly the ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ of Sisterhood. And …

Raise your Boobs & Rise!

The majority of the women with nice breasts (prominent) I encounter during my work, keep them ‘looking down’.

They learned, since teenagerhood, to make their ‘outspoken’ breasts look ‘absent’, ‘invisible’. They have been drilled to keep their ‘above intelligence’ down. I often shout during the dance: ‘intelligentie omhoog’ (Dutch: ‘intelligence up’). They giggle, smile back at me and put their intelligence up for a short while, before they lower them again.

Women with ‘high intelligence’ have been trained, even indoctrinated, to lower their breasts to not ‘provoke’ (men). No matter whether the women are Muslims, Christians, Jews or atheists, the message is the same: breasts down!

Why do men feel provoked by women’s breasts? What is wrong with women’s breasts? They are just breasts! Why has this men’s problem become a women’s problem? And even worse: why did women have …

7 Tips How to be Erotically & Sexually Happy

You are responsible for your sexual happiness and your ultimate erotic success depends on the sexual choices you make.

1. Awaken your Aphrodite: Increase your Erotic Capital

Aphrodite is the goddess of Love, pleasure and erotique. It’s important to realize that you are the only one responsible for your erotic pleasure. You cannot let your Aphrodite depend on a partner’s experience, praise or validation. You need to be in charge. There are many ways to awaken your Aphrodite.

The CocoCabassa technique (we also call it ‘Vagina Dance’) we use during the Goddesses Dance is a great tool for that. It is an amazing technique that awakens strongly and efficiently the erotic energy/life force in the pelvis.

2. Engage your Hestia: Learn Erotic Self-Sufficiency.

Hestia is the goddess of self-sufficiency and mindfulness. She enjoys being on her own and …

How to develop your Body Wisdom?

We danced, screamed, cried to listen to what our body needs to say and prepare this sacred feminine body to embark in the vessel of change. The change came through the dance of Hestia, the goddess who helps us to carry the pain with compassion and move towards the change with grace and trust.

One of the goddesses shared that she finally dared to dive into the pain of abruptly having lost her husband and father of her 3 children after more than 30 years of living happily together. That pain was for her enormous and unbearable. It was a no-go area. But with the Persephone-Demeter-Hestia dances she had enough tools and courage to open that wound, explore it and heal it. Surrounded by the love and support of the other goddesses. Sisterhood at its best. She was surprised to …

Wanna Stop Depression? Be Angry!

Depression is sometimes described as “anger turned inward.” Many people were taught growing up that it isn’t ok to express anger and other ‘negative’ emotions. So we push down these “unacceptable” feelings for many years, but eventually these denied feelings may manifest as depression.

I see this in every goddess bootcamp, training or retreat I give, no matter the age, country, culture, religion of the goddesses. Especially when we dance the Goddess archetypes of Demeter (the mother) & Persephone (the daughter), who both suffer form depression and ‘swallowed anger’. Anger is, worldwide, the most repressed emotion amongst women… ‘Be Nice Syndrome’ is a plague most women suffer from around the world…

If you have been swallowing and suppressing anger and feelings, you may feel a sense of numbness and disconnection from your body and your surrounding. With the goddess dance, …

How to deal with depression?

To minimize the risks of ‘infection’ I left the city where I grew up, then the country, then the whole continent.

I put the Mediterranean Sea and later the Northern Sea between us to make sure that the ‘depression disease’ stays there. I was save on the other side. I was immune for depression.

Until it started hitting me in the cold North-European winters.

I am by nature a joyful playful person. But every Dutch winter, I get ‘hit’ by a depressive wave, made worse by the fear of having inherited my mother’s ‘depressive genes’. I did not know how to deal with depression until I started dancing the archetypes of the Goddesses Demeter and Persephone. These archetypes represent how we feel when we are depressive: worthless,
powerless, hopeless, shameful, lonely… They are THE ‘depressive’ goddesses.

Pathology tells us that …

Do you suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)?

I grew up in a beautiful country, Tunisia, with a wonderful sea and magnificent light. The sky in Tunisia is bright, at every single time of the day. Lately I met a lady in a goddess boot camp I gave in Switzerland.

She told me that she grew up as a child until the age of 6 in Tunisia, and that the most vivid memory she still has is the light, the ‘luminosité tunisienne’ as she calls it.

Sadly for me, luminosity becomes dark when you live, as a girl, in an oppressive culture. No matter how bright is the sky; oppression makes it dark and scary. So I left my luminous Tunisia with such pain in my heart. To soothe the grief, I convinced myself that the luminosity of freedom is brighter than the luminosity of a shiny sky.…

Why we need chaos?

While I am writing this to you, I surrounded myself with the soft light of few candles and the ‘Ultra light therapy lamp’ I use in the winter months. I would not be able to survive the North European winter without my ‘light therapy’ lamp.

Looking back at 2016 I do realize that it was a year marked by chaos that led to fear and uncertainty. These feelings are truly justified by many challenges we faced in 2016: terrorism, wars, IS, Trump, economic breakdowns, rise of intolerance, violence against women and children…

I personally don’t like chaos and I prefer a pattern of control and predictions. This got stronger since I became a mother. And anyway no matter how hard I organize and control everything, my life is much more chaotic and unpredictable than I’d like to admit.

I live …
